Maati Ke Rang - Day 1

The thematic pavilions (Aangans) at the ‘Maati Ke Rang’ festival were inaugurated today at 11:00am by Dr. Sajith EN, Director of the Government of India’s South Zone Cultural Centre (SZCC). The artisans for the Festival started streaming in from all over India, brought together by the seven Zonal Cultural Centres in India. They will put up stalls with various art works that are on sale from January 13-17 at the NEZCC complex in Dimapur.

“The success of last year’s festival made the Government of India decide to continue the Maati Ke Rang festival—I congratulate the NEZCC for excellent arrangements made for the festival in Dimapur,” said Dr. Sajith. The ensuing inauguration, through ribbon cutting under the India Gate mini replica at the NEZCC ground, saw a short walk by officers of the NEZCC accompanying the officials of the SZCC. “You get a taste of India through this short walk through the stalls,” said NEZCC Director, Lipokmar Tzüdir.
