Maati Ke Rang - Day 1

Anytime Fitness Gym in Dimapur today arranged a mini marathon from the ADC court junction here till the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), near the Dimapur airport. Covering a distance of about 10 kilometers, the event saw the participation of young and middle aged atheletes. The event that sought to promote ‘clean and healthy living’ as part of the Swacch Bharat campaign. It co incided with the Maati Ke Rang cultural festival happening from January 13-17, 2015, at the NEZCC complex.

“The success of last year’s festival made the Government of India decide to continue the Maati Ke Rang festival—I congratulate the NEZCC for excellent arrangements made for the festival in Dimapur,” said Dr. Sajith. The ensuing inauguration, through ribbon cutting under the India Gate mini replica at the NEZCC ground, saw a short walk by officers of the NEZCC accompanying the officials of the SZCC. “You get a taste of India through this short walk through the stalls,” said NEZCC Director, Lipokmar Tzüdir“A marathon could be a great way to go back to the roots,” said Oren Ovung (34) at the beginning of the run that started at 6:00am. Sashi Imchen (44) ran for a “clean and healthy India.” The Nagaland Motorcycle Club joined in the fare to raise awareness about leading a clean, healthy and responsible lifestyle.
